Research impact storytelling

Nina Vidovic

Bio

Nina is a senior science communicator at New Zealand’s Natural Hazards Commission and an executive member of the Science Communicators Association of NZ (SCANZ). She works with researchers to tell stories of how science is helping reduce the impact of natural hazards on people, properties and communities across New Zealand. She studied biology (genomics) at Canada’s University of Waterloo where – after a few gigs in the lab – she realised she much preferred writing about science over doing it herself. This led her to a varied career in science comms, helping make complex science useful, usable and used.
