Tash Jobson

Bio

Tash Jobson (pronuncation: johb – sun) is a passionate science communicator and storyteller who loves connecting people with science that can change lives. As Senior Media & Communications Adviser at QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute, she works alongside researchers to share discoveries in a way that is compelling, accessible, and meaningful for the wider community.
With more than 20 years’ experience across media, communications, and leadership, Tash has built a career helping audiences make sense of tricky issues, across every media platform. Before joining QIMR Berghofer, she was part of the fast-paced, deadline-driven world of commercial news media, starting as a radio journalist and newsreader before leading national radio news, current affairs, and podcast teams at Southern Cross Media, home to Seven, Triple M and LiSTNR.
Today, her work involves amplifying scientific wizardry across everything from cardiac bioengineering to mental health genetics, skin cancer and neglected tropical diseases to mosquito control. She loves helping researchers step out of the lab and into people’s living rooms, combining strategic communication with practical, real-time confidence and media coaching, reaching millions of people each year.
A strong advocate for inclusivity, Tash believes effective communication can transform dense scientific papers and complex ideas into meaningful stories that connect with audiences wherever they are.
